Boy, I'll say.  This Jack-centric episode lived up to its title.  I like to think of myself as having a pretty good idea what Lost fans hope is going to happen on the relationship / romance front.  From what I can tell the divide is probably about 50/50.  Half wanting Kate to wind up with Sawyer and the other half rooting for JATE (or KACK... hehe).

Well, this installment came at us strong right off the bat.  I could almost hear half the female fan base go "YAY!" when we got our first flashforward.

I realized tonight that this new parallel story telling with "current" action and flashforwards is the writers' way of really messing with us.  They give us a lot of information in such an asynchronous way that it is almost impossible to really theorize about the events that we have yet to see.  Those "missing links" between what happens on the island and what happens in the flashforwards, with all the time jumping etc?  Anything can happen during those missing pieces.  Its very clever.  And frustrating.

So anyway, Jack and Kate shack up in the future.  The doc has "Something Nice Back Home" and like always, RUINS it because he's an idiot.  The guy just LOVES being miserable.  Sure, visions of his long-dead dad can be disturbing, but he's got Kate to help him forget about that stuff.  I know I'd forget.

Back on the Island, Jack's appendix needs to be removed and Juliet removes it and saves Jack's life.  Not that we didn't know he lives.  The real action on the island took place out in the jungle with Sawyer, Miles, Claire and Aaron.  What's up with Christian actually HOLDING Aaron?  Isn't he, like, dead or something?  After last week, I don't know what to think about this.  It used to be easy:  smokie turned into Christian, Eko's brother, the black horse and so on.  But now?  I don't know.  THEN, Claire walks off into the jungle with her father and disappears leaving Aaron behind?  WTF?

They're beginning to give us some insight into how the Oceanic 6 came to be the Oceanic 6.  Aaron left behind, Jin realizing Charlotte knows Korean and ensures that Sun gets on that helicopter.  It's all coming together.

Next week we get another "dead person is back" situation and I'm going to be more and more confused while getting more information.  I love this show.
