Things are tough on “Keamy’s Kompanions” as The Others lay a mighty smack-down on their under-trained mercenary butts. Sayid fought with the spirit of the Jedi in one of the best fight scenes of the entire series—he could have taken him, but, Keamy took a couple rounds in the back instead…just like Keamy has probably done to three or four dozen people during his muddy career. Ben kills Keamy later (very cool)…and, true to form, Ben has no feeling for the people he has placed in peril back on the freighter. It really sucks to run out of liquid nitrogen.
Hurley’s asylum scenes get better and better. Teenage Walt and he shook the Earth with revelations of survivors…including Michael.
The reunion at the Orchid is awkward…Jack and Locke give their salutations like scorned high-school lovers.
“It’s not an island—it’s a place where miracles happen.” Locke’s words. Jack’s teary eyes.
Ben shows up to break up the trist. The Orchid Station is a great place for relationship-building until Locke and Ben descend via a mossy-elevator. The look in Locke’s eyes going down into the station was “terminator-like.”
Faraday, Miles and Charlotte are becoming stronger characters…their overall freakiness is more and more compelling as we wait for one to become a “broken arrow” and explode. Space/Time experiments would make any of us “freaky.” Time-traveling bunnies, a great new video release from the Dharma folks and Ben taking back “control” while he and Locke are deep inside Orchid Station have switched the momentum of power back to the oldest inhabitants of the Island.
Helicopter rides are really fun…unless you have to jump off two miles away from land. Sawyer’s character has come back to life after weeks of dull, baby-haulin’ dullness. His whisper in Kate’s ear is sure to be one of the biggest speculations of the long LOST off-season. Sawyer gets a merit badge for swimming back to the Island. Their ride back to the island proves either worse…
Sayid is an all-out bad-ass—he’s as cold-blooded as any character on the show (Ben, Widmore, Keamy, Christian?). It’s a good thing that he’s on our side. Hurley has another great asylum scene playing chess with Mr. Echo. Hurley…best supporting-actor Emmy nomination?
Christian lets Michael “go”…spooky. Jack’s zombie-dad let’s a lot of people “go” as the freighter goes apocalyptic in honor of Keamy’s death.
In a powerful flash-forward, Sun has become a super-happy Japanese powerhouse. She’s got Widmore AND her dad by the nuggets…my goodness, she’s my new TV girlfriend.
“Who ever moves the island can never come back,” Ben spoke to Locke. The “answer” for time traveling and island moving became more complex. Ben’s journey into the frozen abyss of The Orchid answered many questions. Apparently, “Island Moving” is somewhat noisy and all your neighbors will hear it. It remains a bit mysterious. Ben passes the “he-man” test by turning the big frozen wheel…the scene was awesome! The island has moved through space and time…
It must suck when your helicopter tour turns into an ocean rafting survival-tour. Jack finally kisses Desmond! Night-time boating isn’t all that bad, after all. The Oceanic Six begin to get their stories straight as their rescue, PENNY’S BOAT, pulls along side and saves the day. If the Desmond/Penny kiss is not THE BEST Lost kiss ever, it is certainly in the top three.
Kate gets to speak to the dead, too…maybe. Claire appears in Aarons’s bedroom and scolds her against “bringing Aaron back to the island.” Claire looked a lot happier the last time we saw her in the cabin with her dad, Christian.
Finally, the beach scene. Membata?
Then, Jack on Crack…Ben shows up in the funeral parlor…regrets are exchanged. Jack has to go back to the island…per Ben. Everybody gets to go back…even the dude in the coffin.
Who’s man enough to kill him, who’s man enough to stand up to his undead form, who’s got more good karma working for him than John Locke? Somebody does…’cause Locke’s dress in his best coffin-layin’ suit and looks pretty-damn-dead.
A few answers, lots of questions…we’re all in this madness together.
