They did it again.  I'm stumped.  I don't know where to begin.  This Locke-centric episode has taken a bunch of things I thought were the products of the overactive imaginations of Lost fans through the years and made them real possibilities.

When the flashbacks started and we found out that Locke had some previous contact with a certain guy who looks the same today as he did back then, I told myself, "Okay...  don't even bother trying to figure this out.  Just go along for the ride."  And boy, what a ride it was.

What the hell was Alpert doing being Alpert in the fifties?  How did he get there?  Is he that old or is he like a really skilled time traveler?  Why did he get pissed off with Locke when he chose the knife?  Was that sand from the Island?

Don't even get me started on the boat and island stuff.  Dead doctor on the beach last week.  Live doctor on the boat this week?  One of the mercenaries tells him that the morse code message is about him?  And then Keamy makes it a reality.... again?

And what about Horace?  What's that all about?  I know it was a dream but still, it was a real message.  What's up with him being the one who built the cabin?  OH, the CABIN!??  Christian?  CLAIRE?  Claire being all cool about her situation?  What is her situation?

Then, when things couldn't possible get more implausible and confusing, Locke's been instructed to WHAT???  I thought that was one of the nuttier theories I had read years ago.  And here we are.  The Island needs to be moved...  go figure.

I speculated a while ago that this may be the best season of Lost ever.  I am now about 90% sure that when the season finale is over, my speculation will be elevated to unadulterated fact.

Join the discussion in the forums here.  We're interested in getting your thoughts as to what we've learned so far this season and what you think it all means.  Trust me, we need the help.

See you next week...
