Yunjin Kim (also written as Yoon-jin) plays the beautiful Sun on Lost. Born in
Her career as an actress includes spokesperson roles, Japanese film, Korean television, and of course Lost. She made Maxim’s “Hot 100” list of 2006 and had an amazing photo spread and cover for Stuff Magazine.
Yunjin is as complex a person as her character is, being made up of many opposites. She is trained in many styles of dance, ranging from ballet to Afro-Caribbean. She is proficient in many styles of fighting including broad sword and Tae kwon do. She speaks both Korean and English fluently. She is also a horseback rider.
Her roles on Korean television combined with her fighting abilities have earned her the nickname Yeo Chun Sa, or “The Warrior Woman.” She has also been called the Korean Julia Roberts.
While at school she thought about changing her name to something more “Americanized.” Instead she listened to a teacher of hers who told she should just concentrate on being a great actress. Then people would automatically learn her name. Seems to me the teacher was right.
