Daniel Dae Kim, aged 38, plays Jin-Soo Kwon in Lost. Born in South Korea, Dae Kim is a successful Korean-American actor. He was raised in Pennsylvania, where he attended Freedom High School in Bethlehem. Following this, Dae Kim went to Haverford College/Bryn Mawr College and then took part in a Graduate Acting Program at New York University.
At the beginning of his career, employment was hard to come by, and excepting a few small plays, Dae Kim barely did any acting. Because of this, he seriously considered going into Investment Banking. However, through perseverence, Dae KIm began to land parts in tv shows such as Angel, Crusade, 24 and Star Trek: Enterprise. He also had a small role as a lab assistant in Spiderman 2, and was regular on Babylon 5. Beofre taking part in Lost, Dae Kim wasn't actually fluent in Korean; co-star Yoon-Jin Kim helped teach him. Kim was amongst People Magazine's 100 Sexiest Men Alive list in 2005.
In Lost, Dae Kim plays Jin-Soo Kwon. Jin is shown to have been desperate to earn his wife Sun's love, even seriously injuring and possibly even killing people for Sun's father. However, Sun hated this, and was planning to leave Jin. On the island, Jin seems to calm down alot. Throughout the course of the show we have seen him become more friendly, although he does order his wife about, something which she detests and rebels against.
