Carlton Cuse has confirmed that they will make five new episodes. Episode eight of the season? Remember last year's little mini-finale in November? Yeah, that's what episode eight is now - but it's only a four week hiatus this time. However, things will be changing up a little...
So, they will air episodes one through seven of Lost that have already been filmed while they try to film as much as possible. But, now that all shows will be new, what's going to happen to Lost's coveted time slot that previously belonged to Grey's Anatomy? Well, McDreamy will be stealing back Jack, Kate, and Sawyer's current time slot and our favorites will get bumped to the 10/9 Central time slot.
But no need to fear. Lost will return from mini-hiatus with episode eight on April 17, then episodes 9 through 13 on April 24, still in the Grey's Anatomy slot until April 24 when Grey's returns. One question is how will they handle condensing eight episodes to five? Carlton says they will execute every plot they had planned originally, but rather than do this in high-octane storytelling, it will be super high-octane storytelling! They also won't do any cramming, so be ready to go flying through the story!
On another note, Carlton Cuse has broken the hearts of those waiting for a Jin and Hurley ping pong tournament by saying that it will not be present in the five new episodes.
