A diary has been recovered from an island, found in some undergrowth near the coast. The island seems to be abandoned, but the diary is now publically available. Drop the cut to see this document in full.

(NOTE: this diary does not contain any clues or hints that can be used in BFTI 5.)

Dear Diary,

Yesterday was one hell of a day. Just when you think things can’t get any worse on this island, it goes and proves you wrong.

I woke up in a monkey cage, Charlie and Nikki splashing water on me. That girl is a nice face to wake up to, if you know what I’m saying. We found ourselves in a pretty tight spot. We were locked up, Sayid and Ethan too. We had no idea where we were, only that it was where They come from. Of course, being optimists, we didn’t give up. When the guard came we jumped him, took his keys, and got the hell out of there.

We ran into the jungle, covered ourselves with mud for camouflage, and began following this cable Charlie found on the ground. Penny was still missing, and we were hoping to find her. We were all scared because we knew it would mean going back to where all of the Others were, but we had to do it. Unfortunately, their cameras picked up our movement and soon enough, they had us captured again. They didn’t bring us back to the cages this time, but to a dig site. Charlie kept getting tased. I don’t think they liked Charlie much. Course, I can understand why. The kid needs to learn when to give up and stop making stupid decisions. He got us recaptured damn near every time we tried to escape. Nikki was looking mighty fine with that shovel though.

Anyway, we got out of there, and after a few more mishaps, we found Penny. Boy was I glad to see her. Mostly because I was sick of the nitwits I had for company. She’s a sweetheart, that Penny. Unfortunately, due to Charlie’s stupidity, we got captured again and locked back up. But soon rescue found us in the form of a strange looking kid named Karl. He helped us out, and led us to a boat. We paddled as fast as we could and got the hell outta there.

I suppose I’ve got to give my companions some credit, though. Charlie’s really not as stupid as I thought he was at first. He’s a decent guy. Except for the fact that he and Sayid keep hitting on Nikki. Ethan’s alright too. A little quiet, a little odd… but alright.

Just when we thought we’d survived the whole ordeal and everything would work out fine, I woke to find that Karl had been murdered in the night. That’s a pleasant feeling. He was probably right near me when it happened, and I didn’t even see anyone. If only I’d caught site of who killed him… I don’t like this island. It gives me a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. Or maybe that’s just all the mangos I’ve been eating,

This is Jimmy The Pilot,
Over and out.
