I meant that the dead couple dubbed A&E by our survivors as symbolic parents. Not actual birth parents. Sorry I wasn't clear. My kids were running around like hostiles running from a smoke monster last night. I only meant that since the couple had been affectionately called Adam and Eve that the stones they carry (which we clearly know represent Smokey and Jacob) could allude to Cain and Abel. It seems to suggest to me that the two are brothers.
Cain and Abel. Jacob and Esau. Moses and Aaron. Those are just a few biblical references to brothers in power struggles. I think the mythology is present to punctuate the duality of man. I still wonder who A & E are, although at this point I don't think it even matters. LoL

i don't know where you get literal brothers from figurative parents BUT
i like it and it sounds like loki and his brother baldr, whom loki had killed by hoth (as in "some like it HOTH")
who adam and eve are had better be answered. i'd be ver ver upset if that is not directly answered

LOL... I ended up at literal brothers from the idea that figurative parents might suggest figurative sons. I think that a long, long time ago someone brought up yen and yang. I feel like these dudes are like that: two parts of the same thing. So then, heck, I started thinking maybe they are actual brothers. Two seeds from one blood.
I am mostly crazy these days, so sometimes my leaps from one idea to another seem completely bizzarro. I am just too lazy to type out each connection I made. sorry!
I am totally brainfried...but i kinda like it.

why the hell are you apologizing, goof ball? my brain is so fried i couldn't even begin to wrap my head around that logic, so i didn't even try. i just accepted your conclusion.
personally, i like the literal parents/ literal children explanation just cause it's easier, simpler and doesnt' require me to think too much. and i'm tired of thinking.

I think being brainfried is a pre-requisite for watching Lost.
I like the idea of them being two parts of the same thing, but polar opposites.

I'm going to re-read this thread and see if anyone was even slightly close. Which I higly doubt, but if someone was close they deserve kudos.

I think Viva was the closest, kudos Viva!!!
