So i was watching the season 4 deleted scenes and in the deleted scene called "Desert Stash" It's a scene in which Ben rides up on a horse in the desert after moving the island. He has a red band around his arm where he got hurt and looks like a mess. Well, he takes a look around and sees a man laying spread out face up on the desert ground. But get this....he has what looks like a dhamra parka on. Could this be ben looking back at himself? Certainly looks like it.

Wow... and no one has yet to post anything about this?
DZ'le... how times have changed here... I came here looking expecting you all to be already in conclusion on this deleted scene, but I guess I jumped the DHARMA shark.
I agree DZ... it does in fact look like Ben, and I believe it to be him as well. But interesting... when did this happen? We have to assume it was immediately, since he's got his arm wrapped... but how'd he get to jump again. It was as if... ok I landed... and then OOPS.. forgot my stash, so let's go back. (pay no mind to my body still lying there... is that what I look like... man I look fat...)
Anyway, ideas as to why it was deleted? Too confusing? Not enough time or episodes (writer's strike) to explain this? The shot of him lying down had electrical wires in it which would NOT be in context of it being the middle of Tunisia???
My head is still hurting over this...
(oh... and howdy doody.. long time no see) :D

I would LOVE to comment on this, but sadly, I have yet to watch the Season 4 dvd because it is wrapped up and taunting me from under the Christmas tree. :(

I feel your pain Avrey!!!!!!!
This is the first year I have had to wait for Christmas to watch the new season. My family is gonna kick themselves for making me wait. I'll be watching LOST while they cook Christmas dinner!!
MWAHAHAHAHA!!
Av, you took the words right out of my mouth.
The next day and a half are going to be even more painful that before I read this thread.

ALA!!!! Welcome back brother.
Here is the youtube of the scene for those that still have to wait till christmas.
I was just thinking....remember the orchid video from comicon? The one with the evil rabbit? There were two after the time travel. ANd so in this scene, there are two bens after the time travel. Please don't tell me we have a Tesla situation here. That would be pretty lame.

Yeah, I'm itching to watch it too. But I have to say I sure hope you are mistaken Dz, that stuff really makes my head hurt, and I get all ooogey in my tummy, and I have to have mass quanities of Budweiser and a very long nap before I feel all better.
PS Nice to see ya Ala!
DZ,
when I saw this I thought so too. Then I thought maybe Locke moved the island too and that was him. Then I rejected that idea and went back to it being Ben. Here's my problem though.
If Ben arrives in the desert and has time to defeat the desert guys and take a horse. When does he go to get the money? I presume it would happen right then. He finds his stach and goes to the hotel. But then he sees himself laying out there?
Huh?
I would like to think that he could never go to a time where he already was. (Like the two bunnies who can't get near each other) He could not exist twice in the same space-time as himself. At least that's how I imagined it would go.
So I guess hwat I am asking is how do you feel about this scene? Proof of a time loop? Or more like a wrinkle? Or what? Do you think there are two Bens now or what?

I am so happy they deleted this scene.
But one wonders why they would shoot the scene in the first place. They made a point of creating it, they had a reason for that. I don't think I want to know what that reason is.
Yeah, if they had left it in I would most definitely be in Santa Rosa. I can't handle it. I am going to the happy place in my head before I ever saw that scene.
I can't quote any of the master physicists on this...but I've either read it in a novel, caught wind of it in my one and only physics class, or seen it on Star Trek.
EINSTIEN/HAWKING: Horizonal Events give birth to various time strings.
EINSTIEN/HAWKING: An infinate number of time strings exist simultaneously based on event outcomes and the birth of new event horizons.
CAPTAIN PICCARD: Just as there is a Time String Horizonal Event that births multiple strings, there must be a Time String Unifying Event that joins many or all strings together.
...
Could bringing the "family" back to the island serve as a Unifying event?
I agree with where you are going Will. A record won't skip forever and a loop is likely to uncurl eventually. They will first drive us through the loop and make it concrete and then then will smooth it out and get rid of it.
Maybe they had to delete that scene b/c John wasn't wearing a jacket when he turned the wheel, and it really will turn out to be him laying there.
