I was watching Lockdown today and when Ben kept repeating that he was Henry Gale I had a sudden revelation. We know that the name comes from The Wizard of Oz when Dorothy runs away from home and meets the fortune teller. However when Dorothy goes to Oz he becomes the Wizard of Oz. At the end he tells her that she can go back to Kansas on his hot air balloon but Toto jumps out and Dorothy tries to get him back on. However, the wizard had already let go of the sandbags (I think) and the hot air balloon rises into the air. Dorothy cries out to him to come back but he says (paraphrasing since I can't exactly remember what he says) "I can't come back. It's too late."

Was the real meaning of the symbolism that Ben was destined to turn the wheel and not come back to the Island? Could it also mean that there is a Dorothy/Toto set up in the series and we don't know? Finally, could this story tell us that in order to come back to the island they need something and just think that they want to go back? Well I'll let you guys think this over. I hope this is the appropriate thread for this topic and not in the Lost Theories section. If it isn't can one of the mods move it to the right spot? Thanks. Now back to Lockdown. :)

I like this idea rl. And I think we already know who Toto is: Vincent.

ha ha

I wanted to talk about Henry Gale. Do you think he will play a role in the current or next season?

We now know that the island jumps through space and time, how did it catch a balloon guy? Is that a totally random event or does it allude to something not yet uncovered??
