It has been confirmed that Sky One will be showing the LOST Season 3 premier and second episode on Sunday November 19 at 10pm in the UK! The episodes will then be shown every Sunday at 10pm for another four weeks until the hiatus.
After the hiatus is over, the episodes will be broadcast within one week of the original ABC broadcast in the U.S.A.
Once again, thank you to Bladerunna on the forums for this information!
Following the confirmation that the rights to Lost have been bought from Channel 4 by Sky in the UK, is the exciting announcement that the show's third season will start broadcasting in November, less than one month from now. The official date of the premier is unknown at the moment, however this is a welcome revelation for all the British Lost fans.
The date of broadcast will be posted as soon as it's announced, so keep checking back.
And thanks to Bladerunna on the forums for digging up the dirt on this one!
It was confirmed today that, in the UK, Sky One will be the new site for Lost. The channel, which is the most popular sattelite and cable broadcaster in the United Kingdom, outbid Channel Four, and other networks, such as Five during the re-negotiations between Channel Four and Buena Vista International.
The show has been broadcast on Channel Four since the summer of 2004, and it has come as a shock that it is now moving over to the Sky network. Spokespeople from the network are understood to be 'very excited' about the move.
The show had suffered dwindling ratings on Channel Four during season two. During Season One, Lost advertisements, spin offs and documentaries were hardly off the air, whilst during Season Two, these were sparse, with hardly and advertisements being shown at all.
Hopes are high for Sky One advertising campaign. Surely with a new show, they'll work hard to promote it. And, with the Sky networks usual high standard, things are looking good for Lost ratings when Season 3 begins in the spring of next year.
We begin with Locke laying prone in the jungle, he sees a naked Desmond run by, tries to hail him, but the words will not come out, he is mute. He looks up and Eko’s stick falls the canopy. At this point, if you're like me, you're wondering where they are in relation to the Swan Station and just what the hell happened to it. But in typical LOST fashion, you're not going to find out… not yet anyways.
The final numbers from Wednesday show LOST losing in the 9pm face-off with power contender Criminal Minds in the demo share, but winning with a tenuous 200,000 more viewers. Naturally the news has LOST fans shaking in their boots. Don't worry about it. LOST historically comes in behind crime drama, but hasn't had such a competitor in its time slot until now. Remember that Damon Lindelof actually foreshadowed this in the past weeks Podcast at lost.abc.com. Lost's viewership is still a strong 17+ Million and the good news is the drop off from premiere to second episode was much smaller than year. Following the reveal of what-was-in-the-hatch, a record five million viewers tuned out and pretty much stayed out for the remainder of the season.
